Did you lose a rooster?
Yesterday afternoon a rooster showed up, poking around our coop with amorous intentions. Of course our son couldn't resist catching the thing, and it stayed in the dog crate on the porch all night. This morning, I suggested he let the poor thing out so it could wander home. He did, and then he let the chickens out, which of course meant that the rooster came back, looking for love. (It also means I have to take the chicken-eating dog outside on a leash. Grr...) Guess I need to ask around about who's lost a rooster, and that we'll be eating fertilized eggs for a while.
Update: The rooster belongs to Bay Hay and Feed. They seemed, uh, thrilled to get him back.
